It is Sunday night.........

Ok so its been 7 months or so since I signed on and actually wrote something....gee I guess life has been busy. Lots has gone on. Got a bit of a relief in the hurriedness of life this last week. Monday May 1st I was driving and had just left my morning job and was passing a line of school busses going 55mph(the speedlimit (foronce)). They were all turning right onto a cross street to go pick up the children from the school(duh) and as I was nearing the first bus that hadn't turned yet....There she was....a lady decided to make a blind left turn across 4 lanes and never saw me coming. I didn't see her coming until it was too late. I swerved, stood on the brake pedal(literally) and it just wasn't enough. I nailed the driverside rear quarter panel directly on the gas tank door. (missed the driverside door) I came sliding to a stop about 100 feet later and realized that I was blocking 2 lanes of traffic and my car would no longer move. AND I spilled my bag of skittles that was sitting in my lap! Anyways I called 911 and tried to get out of the car, had to basically kick my door open to get out. As I was talking to the operator I walked over to check on the lady while dodging the fools that decided it was a good idea to try to drive through the debris path . I made it over and she was just bruised up on her neck and her elbow. We waited on the Police and he got there and got the cars moved out of the way. Took both of our storys got all the insurance stuff and then declared that she was the one at fault. He explained everything to the both of us and when he got to the part where he said who had to pay for what, the lady was completely awestruck when he said she had to pay for everything. I was thinking duh you pulled out in front of me which is failing to yield to traffic at a stop sign! Oh well I got a rental out of the deal. They are working on the settlement for my car which is completely totaled and said that they will be making a final settlement after I have been released by the Dr's. Which should cover pain and suffering, wages lost, and ALL the Dr bills.(which are getting rather large already) I thought I was ok at the time but the longer I waited the more I started to hurt. I went to a Dr right after the accident but he blew it off as just a sore back and gave me some pain killers and 1 day off work.  By Tuesday morning I could barely move my neck and my back was killing me. I went to a second Dr. on Wed. night and finally got the right kind of drugs and he gave the order for 3 weeks of PT.  It is now almost 7 days after the accident and I have about 75% movement in my neck and my back is still sore.(even with the narcotics that I have been given.) So needless to say things have been interesting here at the house and at work. I can't lift anything more than 10#'s which includes the trash, laundry, and basically everything that I do at both jobs. So right now I am about to go completely bonkers not being able to do ANYTHING! Those that know me know that I am rather active and all I have been able to do this last week is sit around and read or watch TV or sleep. (I needed a break just not this way!)
I will give mad props to Sarah in the whole deal she has been helping out alot. She even installed 3 yes 3 ceiling fans this last week. I got to sit there and tell her what wire went where and tell her what the shortcuts were for installing one. She even went out today and mowed the back yard! I was able to get her a cold lemonaide and sit in a chair and watch.

IN other news.... OKLAHOMA GOT RAIN!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it but it happened! The burn ban that has been in effect for the past 8months has finally been dropped and the trees and grass are turning green!!! I can't wait. I have 9 days left until I turn 25! whoohooo I will be considered old/responsible (only by age!)

Well that is all for now....sorry if it was all babble but hey I have an excuse! Thanks for reading!

Ok so I am back now. I have been lost and tied up with working on our house. I do believe that me and the Mrs have completed about 3 weeks worth of work in the past 4 days to prepare for our apprasial.(sp?!?) Anyways I believe that it all went well and that we will be hearing back by the end of the week on how it went. Which if all goes well we can close on our new loan by Turkey day!!

On a more interesting note....as I was going to work today I got ready to pull into the parking lot and looked down Memorial Rd and it was more like a rushing river than a roadway. Evidently a rather large water main broke underneath the pavement and water was flowing out of a dozen or more cracks in the pavement and shooting up 8-12". Water was also flowing over the curbs on both sides of the road and it wasn't just clean water mind you it had to be the good ole RED MUD water. So now my car is primer, faded tan, with Oklahoma Red Mud Speckles! How wonderful I think that I might actually patten this color sample and try to sell it off on Ebay. Hey you never know. I know I can get at least a little bit if some guy was getting $25 for a bag of dirt from Tuttle!

So other than my new marketing scheme I don't really know of much else going on at this particular moment in time. I do ask that you keep in your prayers Mike and Sue Bently they are the preacher and his wife at the University church of Christ in Lawton. They were involved in a motorcycle accident on Sat and it was pretty bad. Mike was still in a drug induced comma and Sue was still in ICU but looking to be moved. Please keep them in your prayers and the people of that congregation in the coming months as it will be a long recovery for the both of them.

That is all for now. God bless!!

AH HA! I finally remembered how to start a new post without the help of my better half. Well lets see alot happened since my last posting. I had my fatherin laws help on the siding that day and then the next weekend was working on another part of the siding and slipped the drill off a screw and stuck the bit at high speed 3/8 of an inch into my index finger on my left hand resulting in a quick trip to the ER and 2 stitches. That was on Sat and then that following Wednesday I left to go to New Orleans. We made it down there all ok and got alot of good work accomplished. However, I have yet to come up with the words needed to begin to describe what I saw first hand down there. We need to all remember to keep the people of that area in our daily prayers.

So now back to the house, since we got the outside painted we are working frantically on the inside trying to get it all ready for the apprasial (sp?) coming up soon so that we can get the house refinanced thus saving several $$$ in the process. Wish us luck.

Found out some news tonight about a good friend of ours Tony Hall. He is having a brain tumor removed/surgery tomorrow morning 11/3. Please keep him and his family in your prayers!

Well it is now midnight thirty and the alarm goes off in 5 1/2 hours to start my next 16 hour workday. So at that thought I will leave you with what I have left and retire to my bed with my warm and cuddly wife.... I know you're jealous!!

Take it easy all and God Bless!

Hrm ok so I was informed and strongly suggested that I make a new post.

It is now the end of a long week for me. I just got home from work a little bit ago and am thinking about sleep. I got to sit down and watch my home football team that was undefeated until tonight play a very good game vs. Lawton. The only reason I saw that they lost was the 3 fumbles that they had in the last 15 mins of the game! But I did get to see my brother Nate marching in the band on TV so that was cool. Makes me feel really old to realize how old he is and that he is a JR in high school! Crazy....

Well my better half brought her father home with her tonight and he is going to be helping me re-side a good portion of our house tomorrow. I am looking forward to it since the design that is on the house is very 80's and it is just plain u-g-l-y. So once I get the new siding up I will beable to start on the painting of the house before the cold weather really sets in.

The cold front that came through here on Wed. night took the temp from 87 down to 62 in about 2 hours. It was nice for the change. Had to actually turn the heater on last night due to me coming home and the house being 67 inside.

Anyways I think that I have rambled on long enough and its time to go to bed.  Enjoy all and comment away!!!

OK so now that things are back to normal I am going to write about it. I am continuing the remodel of our house and go to replace the light in the kitchen and put in a ceiling fan to help out with the heat in there. However when I went in to pull the old fixture down I found bare wires wrapped in electrical tape! (this is very bad) I realize that I am going to have to run a complete new circut from the switch up to the mounting point for the fan. So I get started on it and once I located the box in the attic I realized just how bad things were. The wiring had actually gotten so hot it had burned off all the paper from the sheetrock in about a 1 square foot area and discolored the wiring for 3 feet! Its a wonder the house hadn't burnt down by now. Anywho got it all pulled out and tomorrow will have to replace the sheetrock in the ceiling where its all burnt before it falls in. Sigh...the joys of owning a house....I love it!!  Nite all......
